Installation Guide

How to Set Up Your System

Takes just a few minutes. Once set up, your plants water themselves.

Step 1

Identify the Line

Match the part to the correct 8 mm feeding tube or 3 mm drip tube connection.

Step 2

Cut Cleanly

Use a clean square cut so the tube seats tightly.

Step 3

Install the Fitting

Push the tube fully onto the connector, valve or support.

Step 4

Check for Leaks

Run water through the system and inspect the connection before leaving it unattended.

Important setup note

This filter is designed for the Blumat tank connector only. Confirm you have the tank connector before purchasing โ€” the filter does not work as a standalone part.

First-water check

After the first day, confirm water is flowing freely. A clogged filter will reduce flow and cause the system to fail

PLANT DRIVEN WATERING

Never Water Your Plants Again

Most watering systems run on a timer. Ours runs on a plant. No timers, electricity, or apps needed. Set it up in 30 minutes with only a pair of scissors. Powering greenhouses and home gardens across Europe since 1965 and now available in the USA.

Built to Grow With You

Your Blumat setup will shift, expand, and change over time. Every part is designed to be added, moved, or swapped without rebuilding the whole layout.

The Fun Part

Building a Blumat system is honestly satisfying. Every part slides together cleanly, and you can rearrange the whole layout in an afternoon if you want.

One Less Reason to Hand-Water

Every fitting in the catalog is a step toward a system that runs on its own. Add it once, water automatically for years.

For the Next Plant

It's nice to have extra fittings on hand for those times new plants just show up at your house

Austrian Engineering

The same precision that makes Blumat sensors work for 60+ years lives in every connector, valve, and tube in the catalog.

Keeps the Line Clean

Debris builds up slowly, then causes problems all at once. This filter catches it at the source so your sensors and drippers never see it.

Protect Your Water Line

How Blumat Fittings Work

Screen debris before it reaches the supply line, helping protect sensors, fittings, and drip points from clogs.

Confirm the Size

8 mm fittings only work with 8 mm supply tubing. 3mm fittings work with 3mm drip tubing

Cut Tube

Use sharp scissors or a tube cutter for a square cut. Crushed or angled cuts leak.

Push It On

Seat the tubing fully onto each barb of the fitting. A snug fit holds without clamps or glue.

Test the Flow

Run water through the system and check for leaks before walking away.

Walk Away

Once it's installed and tested, you're good to go.

Perfect For You If...

You Use Rainwater or an Outdoor Tank

Open reservoirs collect leaves, insects, and sediment. The filter stops that debris before it reaches your sensors and lines.

You've Had a Sensor Clog Before

Debris in the supply line is one of the most common causes of Blumat sensor failure. One filter prevents that.

You Run a Fertilized Reservoir

Nutrient solutions can leave deposits over time. A filter at the source reduces buildup in the line.

You Want the System to Run Longer Without Maintenance

Less debris in the line means fewer clogs, fewer check-ins, and more time between seasonal flushes.
