Installation Guide

How to Set Up Your System

Takes just a few minutes. Once set up, your plants water themselves.

Step 1

Identify the Line

Match the part to the correct 8 mm feeding tube or 3 mm drip tube connection.

Step 2

Cut Cleanly

Use a clean square cut so the tube seats tightly.

Step 3

Install the Fitting

Push the tube fully onto the connector, valve or support.

Step 4

Check for Leaks

Run water through the system and inspect the connection before leaving it unattended.

Important setup note

Most installs benefit from at least two shut-off valves โ€” one right after the reservoir to control the whole system, and one at the end of the line for flushing or end-of-line watering.

It's good to have extras

You never know when you're going to want to expand or modify your system. A few extra bucks is cheap peace of mind in case you make a mistake during setup.

PLANT DRIVEN WATERING

Never Water Your Plants Again

Most watering systems run on a timer. Ours runs on a plant. No timers, electricity, or apps needed. Set it up in 30 minutes with only a pair of scissors. Powering greenhouses and home gardens across Europe since 1965 and now available in the USA.

Keeps Systems Flexible

Use this part to adjust, expand or maintain your layout.

Austrian Engineering

The same precision that makes Blumat sensors work for 60+ years lives in every connector, valve, and tube in the catalog.

Flush the System

Open the valve every few months to clear out sediment and debris before they reach your sensors.

A Hose at the End of the Line

Install one at the end of your 8 mm run and you've got a built-in hose. Rinse plants, fill containers, water directly.

Isolate One Zone

Stop water to one section while the rest of the system keeps running. Repairs and changes happen without taking everything offline.

For the Next Plant

It's nice to have extra fittings on hand for those times new plants just show up at your house

Control Water Flow

How Blumat Fittings Work

Add manual flow control to your 8 mm line so you can pause, flush, isolate, or service part of the system.

Confirm the Size

8 mm fittings only work with 8 mm supply tubing. 3mm fittings work with 3mm drip tubing

Cut Tube

Use sharp scissors or a tube cutter for a square cut. Crushed or angled cuts leak.

Push It On

Seat the tubing fully onto each barb of the fitting. A snug fit holds without clamps or glue.

Test the Flow

Run water through the system and check for leaks before walking away.

Walk Away

Once it's installed and tested, you're good to go.
